• Deut 8:2
Remember how the Lord your God led you all the way in the wilderness these forty years, to humble and test you in order to know what was in your heart, whether or not you would keep his commands.
• God knows everything concern us. So test might reveal who we are; reveal to us , not to God
• Test reveals how we much we have grown.
• Test always preceeds a promotion. Its envitable.
• But why does God test us?
• Isaiah 48:10-11
See, I have refined you, though not as silver;
I have tested you in the furnace of affliction.
For my own sake, for my own sake, I do this.
How can I let myself be defamed?
I will not yield my glory to another.
• Psalms 12:6-And the words of the Lord are flawless,
like silver purified in a crucible,
like gold refined seven times.
• Eg:Joseph was tested when he was sold off by brothers and later to be accused unjustly
• Eg:Moses when he was in the mountains looking after father in laws flock.
• Eg:David has to go throught a testing period before he had become king.
• Matth 8:23-27
Disciples pleaded “Lord, save us! We’re going to drown!”
• Matth 14:22-34
Disciples responded with similar dread ,when they saw Jesus walking on the lake.
• Some times during the test we tend to fall out and escape from it.
• 1 Corinthians 10:13-No temptation has overtaken you except what is common to mankind. And God is faithful; he will not let you be tempted beyond what you can bear. But when you are tempted, he will also provide a way out so that you can endure it.
• Romans 5:3-5 Not only so, but we also glory in our sufferings ,because we know that suffering produces perseverance; perseverance, character; and character, hope. And hope does not put us to shame, because God’s love has been poured out into our hearts through the Holy Spirit, who has been given to us.
